The XIII International Tennis Tournament St.Petersburg Open-2007 is close to its end
SCC Peterburgsky saw the first winners of the doubles final match – these are Daniel Nestor (Canada) and Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia) who beat the Jurgen Melzer/Todd Perry team 6-1, 7-6. This is the second St. Petersburg Open title for the winners though with different partners. Nestor took the St.Petersburg Open title in 2000 teamed up with Kevin Ullyett from Zimbabwe, while Zimonjic celebrated victory in 2003 with the Austrian Julian Knowle. It is interesting that the other two 2007 doubles finalists were also winner in St. Petersburg: Melzer (with Julian Knowle) - in 2005,
and Perry was victorious last year with the Swede Simon Aspelin.
Now the spactators will see the main match of the tournament that is to start soon. Second seeded Andy Murray of Great Britain will compete with the sixth seeded Fernando Verdasco from Spain.
